Since December, 2014 Police have been investigating a male from Scarborough who would attend St. Catharines in order to conduct drug sales. The investigation led Police to identify a Niagara Street address which the male was selling drugs from. As a result of the investigation a search warrant was obtained.
At approximately 7:00 pm members of the 1 District Street Crime Unit and 1 District Uniform members conducted an entry to the residence and the male was arrested. Search of the male and the residence resulted in Police seizing cocaine and currency.
Police say as a result, 34 year old Scarborough resident Jason CATER has been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime and in total Police seized $6130 in cocaine and $3077 in currency.
A female with an outstanding arrest warrant was also located at the residence and arrested. While Police were searching the residence, another male entered and was arrested based on the investigation conducted. This male was found to have on his person prescription pills, marijuana, cocaine and currency.
As a result, 50 year old St. Catharines resident Melville JARRETT was arrested and charged with 3 counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Scheduled Substance, and Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime.
As a result Police seized $470 in drugs and $735 in currency. All three persons were held for a bail hearing.
