According to police, on Monday, December 22 at 8:45 pm, two males were found at the old Jean Vanier High School, 381 Clare Ave, Welland. They broke into the school with a pry bar and set off the intrusion alarm. Police were notified and attended at the school.
On police arrival, two males were seen inside the school with flashlights. When they exited the building, they were arrested by Uniform Patrol Officers. Both males were 16 yrs. of age.
They were charged with Break, Enter with Intent, Possession of Break-In Instruments, Mischief Under, Fail to Comply.
Due to the provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act, police cannot identify either youth. They were both held in custody pending the outcome of a Bail Hearing in St. Catharines Provincial Court on December 23.
