Christmas….a time of giving , receiving and also often a time that we often get family portraits. For those of us that are used to getting that group shot at a photography studio, we know how precious it is to have those family moments captured for a lifetime by a professional!
Yet for the less fortunate, did you ever stop to consider that this is a luxury item they could never afford? Enter Help Portrait. An initiative started by celebrity photographer Jeremy Cowart and Kyle Chowning in 2008 whose mission is to empower photographers, hairstylists and makeup artists to use their skills, tools and expertise to give back to their local community.
This Saturday Dec 6th 2014, from 9:30am-2:00pm, in partnership with Community Care this event takes place locally for its fourth year. It’s being held at the St. Catharines, Public Library in the Mills Room. Participating families will get a free 20-minute photo session along with an 8×10 print and a DVD. What a great Christmas initiative.
Space is limited, but families can register by contacting Community Care at 905-685-1349. For more information on the Help Portrait movement, visit www.help-portrait.com
