Donate to help seniors that are forgotten in local old age homes get a life boosting stocking this Christmas with the Stocking of Love Campaign!
Four years ago, Janice Ford-Spencer, a resident who moved to Port Dalhousie a few years ago, was impacted by the large amount of old age homes in the area so she started the Stockings of Love to support “the forgotten ones.”
For only $25 a stocking can be purchased and filled with “treasures” for a senior making them feel special and remembered over the holiday season. Many residents of homes get no visitors over the holidays and the joy this small initiative brings is immeasurable.
“Families just don’t come at Christmas. “Some of them live too far. And the residents were always making excuses for their family. And that’s generally a very, very sad time of year for everyone.” says Ford – Spencer.
