Niagara Regional Police say that while they were on patrol, a traffic stop lead to drugs and a handgun in St. Catharines.
Early in the morning of July 2 officers observed a 2007 beige Hyundai Santa Fe on Riordon Street driving erratically. A traffic stop was conducted.
Further investigation by the officers led the arrest of the driver as he was criminally prohibited from driving a car in Canada. A search of the male and the car following his arrest resulted in the seizure of the following:
109.3 grams of Fentanyl (street value, $32,790)
6.3 grams of Crystal Meth (street value, $1,260.00)
11.5 grams of Cocaine (street value, $1,150.00)
$970.00 in Canadian Currency and $50.00 in American Currency (total $1,020)
Glock 23 handgun with a Glock magazine containing five bullets
Jhon Freddy Flores (26 years) of no fixed address, has been arrested and charged with various offences as a result and attended a video bail hearing on July 2, 2022. He was subsequently held in custody and was set to appear again via video from the Niagara Detention Centre to the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines on July 4, 2022.
