On Friday the 26th of September members of the Special Enforcement Unit conducted RIDE in the city of StCatharines. Officers set up in various locations around the downtown core in anticipation of impaired drivers during the Niagara Wine festivities.
Officers stopped several hundred vehicles which resulted in two arrests for Impaired Driving, one arrest for Refuse to Provide Breath Sample, and 7 Provincial Offences for various HTA offences.
Police will be out looking for Impaired Drivers for the remainder of the weekend and encourage those attending the Wine Festival to consider taking a cab or having a designated driver if they have been drinking.
