Since the beginning of September 2014, members of the St. Catharines Street Crime Unit have been investigating a male for selling drugs from his residence, as well as his vehicle.
On Wednesday September 24th, 2014 Police were granted judicial authorization to enter and search a Chelsea Street home. At approximately 7:00 pm Police observed the subject of the investigation leave his residence in his vehicle where he was followed and arrested. Police then attended the Chelsea Street residence and executed the search warrant. As a result of the search, Police seized a large amount of cash, prescription medication and marihuana.
Charged with 2 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, 1 count of Production of a Controlled Substance, 1 count of Possession of Proceeds over 5000.00$, and 1 count of Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon is 59-year-old Alain Guitard, and 48-year-old Johanne Drapeau. Both Guitard and Drapeau will be attending a bail hearing on September 25th, 2014.
In total Police located and seized 4,300.00$ in prescription medication, 1,000.00 in marihuana, $17,080.00$ in cash and a prohibited weapon.
