Police say a deadly collision in Niagara-on-the-Lake on Niagara Stone Road yesterday has left 1 dead and 1 critically injured.
On July 29, 2020, at approximately 2:50pm emergency services personnel responded to a report of a serious accident in the area of Niagara Stone Road at Eastchester Avenue. The initial investigation determined that two cars had been involved in a head on collision.
Paramedics from Niagara Emergency Medical Service (NEMS) and members of the Niagara on the Lake Fire Service attended to the two people involved. The driver of one of the cars was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the second car was transported from the scene by paramedics with critical injuries to a local hospital. The second driver was then transported to an out of region hospital by an Ornge air ambulance helicopter.
More details will be provided once the next of kin notifications have been completed and the matter has been investigated further by detectives.
