Police say on February 18, 2019, Welland resident Joshua Nuziato was arrested for an unrelated matter.
However, during their investigation, officers formulated grounds believing Nuziato was in possession of drugs and cash resulting in his vehicle being seized and held.
On February 20th the Welland Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant upon Nuziato’s vehicle and seized over 600 grams of cocaine, which was packaged for distribution, and a large sum of Canadian Currency.
The packaged cocaine has an estimated street value of $60,000. Further investigation indicates Nuziato has been involved in the sales of cocaine for a period of time.
Nuziato has been charged with Possession of a Scheduled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and Possession of Proceeds Obtained by Crime. Nuziato has been held in custody and is scheduled for a bail hearing in the City of St. Catharines.
