In 2018 members of the Welland Street Crime Unit began an investigation into the allegations of a Welland resident selling heroin and fentanyl.
On June 18th, 2018 the investigation concluded with an arrest and the execution a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act search warrant. As a result of this investigation, Luciano Dicato, a 65 year old resident of Welland, Ontario is charged with:
1. Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
2. Possession heroin for the purpose of trafficking
3. Possession methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking
4. Possession of cocaine
5. Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5000
As a result of this investigation police seized approximately $1500 in drugs, various trafficking indicators and a quantity of Canadian Currency.
