Disappointing news for swimmers looking to get into the pools at the St. Catharines Kiwanis Aquatics Centre.
Repairs continue to hamper their regular functioning since initially shutting down July 4th after some material from the lighting fixtures and ceiling panels fell onto the pool deck.
The latest report from the City indicates that for the months of July and August, the pools will remain out of service while repair options are reviewed by City staff.
An exact date for when the pools will re-open is still not known.
To compensate for the closure, an additional 107 hours of weekly length swimming, aquafit and leisure swimming have been added at the City’s outdoor pools to provide residents with extended opportunities for swimming activities.
