The Niagara Regional Police Service say they are offering a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the death of Livia Beirnes in 2010.

Many area residents rushed to the scene in an effort to assist. Mrs. Beirnes could be heard calling for help from the basement level of the home. Firefighters arrived and located Mrs. Beirnes in the basement. Mrs. Beirnes was bound and unable to escape the burning home. She subsequently died in hospital the following day.
Since 2010, members of the Niagara Regional Police Service have been actively investigating this case in an effort to identify the person or persons responsible for the murder of Livia Beirnes.
Investigators with the Niagara Regional Police Service are determined to bring the responsible person or persons before the courts and bring closure for the Beirnes family.
