Police say on February 7th, 2016 at 10:30 p.m. a verbal confrontation started between two family members after a Super Bowl party in the town house complex located at 178 Scott Street in the city of St. Catharines. The situation escalated, a 56 year old male victim was punched and kicked by the accused.
On February 10th, 2016 the male victim was transported to the Niagara Health System- St. Catharines Site by ambulance as a result of suffering from serious injuries he sustained in the altercation. Members of the 1 District Detective Office were assigned the investigation.
Charged with Aggravated Assault is 23 year old Nicholas Pohoriletz of St. Catharines. He was held in custody pending the outcome of a bail hearing in St. Catharines. Anyone with information regarding this incident is to call Detective Donna Orth at 905-688-4111 ext. 4363.
