On July 24, 2015 the Niagara Regional Police Service Marine / Underwater Search and Recovery Unit continued the search for the missing 21 year male from Caledon Ontario. The search was assisted by a vessel from the Fort Erie Fire Service and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (Marine Security Enforcement Team).
At approximately 11:10AM firefighters on the Fort Erie Fire vessel observed the missing male, he was deceased. He was found approximately 50m south of the boat ramp jetty in Crystal Beach / Fort Erie in Lake Erie. The male was in approximately 2.5m of water. A diver from the NRPS Underwater Search and Recovery Unit searching nearby took control of the male, and brought him to shore.
The circumstances around the cause of the death remain under investigation by detectives from the NRPS Fort Erie Criminal Investigations Branch and the Forensic Services Unit.
A post mortem is planned for later today or tomorrow in St. Catharines.
The name of the deceased male is not being released at the request of the next of kin.
Foul play is not suspected.

Police say today, on Thursday July 23, 2015 at approximately 5:00pm, Niagara Regional Police Service, Niagara EMS and Fort Erie Fire Department were called to Crystal Beach area, Fort Erie for a 21 year old male who went missing.
A group of people were out in Lake Erie, using an inflatable raft when the male fell into the water and was not wearing a life jacket. Efforts to locate the male have so far been unsuccessful and the search to locate him is underway, with the assistance of the Niagara Regional Police Service Marine Unit, Canadian Coast Guard, Fort Erie Fire Department and a Royal Canadian Mounted Police vessel.
Boaters are asked to remain out of the area near the Crystal Beach Boat Launch until Police vessels have cleared. Terrace Lane remains closed, including access to the boat launch.
