Niagara Regional Police Service say their Human Trafficking Unit launched an investigation that has resulted in an arrest made in Welland.

In April 2024, the investigation began into the trafficking of a women in the Niagara Region. A male suspect was identified. As a result of the ongoing investigation, on Wednesday, July 17th, 2024, Conrad LEDUC (53 years) of Bathurst, New Brunswick, was arrested and charged in Welland for the following offences:

•Trafficking in Persons

•Procuring

•Material Benefit from Trafficking in Persons

•Material Benefit from Sexual Services

LEDUC was held in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled to take place on July 18th, 2024, via video link to the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse located at 59 Church Street in St. Catharines.

Police believe there could be further victims both in the Province of Ontario or New Brunswick. Anyone with information regarding this investigation is asked to contact the lead detective at 905-688-4111, option 3, extension #1009544.
