Niagara Regional Police say a female is facing a firearm charge in Niagara Falls.
On Monday July 8, 2024, at approximately 5:06 pm, uniform officers attended the area of Senaca Street and River Road in the City of Niagara Falls in response to an armed person call.
Investigation revealed a firearm had been pointed at another person at the residence. Officers located and identified the female suspect who was arrested at the residence.
On July 9th, 2024, 2 District Detectives executed a warrant at the residence and located and seized a firearm.
Kayla THORPE (30 years old) of Niagara Falls was arrested and charged with the following offences:
Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
Utter threats
THORPE was held in custody pending a bail hearing that was expected to take place on July 9, 2024, at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse located at 59 Church Street in the City of St. Catharines.
