Police say a bank is offering a $30,000 reward after a Niagara Falls robbery for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the persons responsible.
The investigation by Niagara Falls detectives of the Niagara Regional Police Service into the armed robbery of a Meridian Credit Union, located at 4780 Portage Road has been ongoing since February of 2023.
Details of Robbery
On February 23rd, 2023, at 8:01pm officers responded to the Meridian Credit Union, located at 4780 Portage Road, in Niagara Falls regarding an armed robbery that just occurred. The initial investigation determined two male suspects entered the bank, brandished a handgun, and demanded cash from the employees. The suspects received an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency. No employees received any physical injuries.
Suspect #1 is described as follows:
- Black male
- 50 years of age
- 6’0” tall, slim build
- Wearing a black mask
- Wearing a black jacket
- Wearing black gloves
- Wearing dark grey pants
- Wearing black shoes
Suspect #2 is described as follows:
- Black male
- 30 years of age
- 5’9” tall, medium build
- Wearing a mask
- Wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt with “BARRIE” on the left chest and a maple leaf logo underneath
- Wearing black pants
- Wearing burgundy shoes
The suspects are believed to have fled the scene in a white Dodge Caravan with stolen licence plates.
The Meridian Bank is offering a $30,000.00 reward for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the persons responsible.
