A St. Catharines woman has been arrested after a human trafficking investigation according to Niagara Regional Police.
On June 27, 2022, an investigation by the Niagara Regional Police Service Human Trafficking Unit concluded with Tasha Lynn Summers (38 years old) of St. Catharines being charged with the following offences:
Trafficking in Persons Under the Age of Eighteen Years
Material Benefit-Trafficking Person Under Eighteen Years
Material Benefit from Sexual Service Provided by Person Under 18
Procuring Person Under 18 Years
The investigation involved offences that occurred in June of 2022 in the City of St. Catharines. The victim is a female in her late teens. The victim is now in a place of safety.
Tasha Summers was held in custody and will appear at a video bail hearing on June 28, 2022, at the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse at 59 Church St. in St. Catharines.
