Police say a man has now been arrested after a series of break and enters during the night in occupied residences.
Between August 19, 2020 and August 21, 2020 the Niagara Regional Police Service received reports of the break ins and as a result of an investigation a suspect was identified as being 32 year old Jacob O’Neal from Welland who was arrested without incident on August 21, 2020.
O’Neal has been charged with nineteen (19) criminal offences in relation to a number of separate incidents as part of this investigation:
Break and Enter and Commit (3 Counts)
Break and Enter with Intent
Attempting to Commit and Indictable Offence
Trespass by Night
Personating a Peace Officer
Fraud Under $5000
Possession of a Stolen Credit Card
Theft of Motor Vehicle
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000
Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000
Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle
Failing to Stop at Scene of an Accident
Flight from Police
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purposes of Trafficking
Failing to Comply with Release Order (3 Counts)
O’Neal appeared before a video bail hearing and was remanded into custody with the next schedule bail hearing on August 28, 2020.
