Taking a look at the weather forecast for the Niagara Region, a wind warning has been issued and is in effect for: Niagara Falls – Welland – Southern Niagara Region – St. Catharines – Grimsby – and the Northern Niagara Region as follows:
Strong southwesterly wind gusts are expected this evening and overnight.
Southwesterly wind gusts near 90 km/h are expected to develop this evening and persist into the overnight hours before weakening slightly. Westerly wind gusts of 70 or 80 km/h are then expected into Friday morning.
Winds will continue to ease through the day Friday.
Damage to buildings, such as to roof shingles and windows, may occur. High winds may toss loose objects or cause tree branches to break. NOw a look at the more detailed forecast:
