On August 17, 2019, Niagara Regional Police Service say they responded to a report of a serious collision in Niagara-on-the-Lake in the area of Concession 7 Road and Line 6 Road.
Detectives from Collision Reconstruction and Forensics Services Units continued the subsequent investigation which found that at about 11 pm, a 33 year old woman from N-O-T-L was the victim of a hit and run collision.
The victim had been on foot at the side of the southbound lane of Concession 7 Road when she was struck by a southbound dark coloured pickup truck. The pickup truck did not stop and was last seen driving southbound away from the scene.
The victim was transported to an out of region hospital in critical condition and died in hospital on August 19, 2019, due to her injuries.
The suspect pickup truck is believed to have sustained damage to the passenger side as debris was found at the scene. The truck may be missing the passenger side mirror.
Detectives are appealing to members of the public and collision repair businesses in the area to be aware of the damage and to report any vehicle that may match the description.
Residents and businesses in the area of the collision with closed circuit cameras are asked to review their footage for the suspect pickup truck.
