If you’re considering a pet for your household, Niagara SPCA is where it’s at!
We have three shelters full of wonderful pets deserving their loving forever home. Visit the Niagara Falls, Welland or Port Colborne shelters. You are welcome to spend time with the animals, and the staff can answer all your questions so you can make an informed decision. Summer can be a great time to adopt when the kids are off school so they can spend time with their new family member. Check out our websites to view the profiles of all the adoptable animals.
More about main picture Rae: We’d like to see her settled into her forever home. Rae is an American Bulldog mix, 60+ pounds of muscle. She’s a very strong, happy, friendly girl, although she is apprehensive in the kennel. It appears that Rae hasn’t had much routine or structure, and she will benefit from that, and perhaps from an owner with large breed experience. It should be noted that Rae very much dislikes rabbits. Rae loves to be active and has lots of energy. She will make a great companion for someone strong and active.

On August 9th, the Niagara SPCA and Humane Society is hosting a fundraiser with live classic rock performances by “Ruckus”. Rock 4 Paws takes place at Club Richelieu in Welland and tickets are only $10. Dinner is included. The event will have a cash bar and $5000 in prizes to be won. This event is sponsored by Performance Hyundai and TD Auto Finance. Event starts at 7pm. Tickets available online at wellandspca.com or at either the Welland or Niagara Falls animal shelters. Plan to join us, it’s going to be an amazing evening.
Bow Wow and Chow is coming up on Sept. 29. We still have room for a few vendors. We are particularly looking for food vendors. Make sure Gala 2019 is on your calendar too. It is on November 2 and has a medieval theme this year. Earlybird tickets are available now. Keep your eye on our websites (www.nfhs.ca and www.wellandspca.com) and Facebook pages to stay in the loop, we always have a lot going on!

We are really excited about our Flights for Paws Program. You may have noticed that we have had dogs coming in to the shelter from some faraway places in the past year or so. Flights for Paws creates new beginnings for animals in need by bringing them to Niagara to find their well -deserved forever homes. Can you help? If you are interested in sponsorship, please call or email me. We are also looking for volunteers to pick up the dogs at the airport or border.
