(Main picture is Rousey who is currently looking for a foster home) The year 2019 is here, and we have so many hopes and dreams for the animals in our care. But we need YOU to make things happen.
One of the main ways you can help the animals directly is to support our fundraisers. Our next event is Trivia Night in Niagara Falls, on February 1. (quickly followed by Welland’s Trivia Night on February 16 at the Royal Canadian Legion #4 in Welland.)
We have moved the Niagara Falls event to the Greg Frewin Theatre, our thanks to Greg for donating the space for this important fundraiser! The evening is always a lot of fun, with three rounds of Trivia and a silent auction. There will be a cash bar, and the full menu of concession food available to order. This event raises money to directly impact the lives of the animals in our care-repairs to the kennels, medical procedures, treatments and medications, special food, toys and equipment to stimulate and strengthen, training, shelter improvements…and the list goes on.
Our fundraising events help us accomplish our goals. And our main goal will always be to offer the best care possible for the vulnerable animals in our care, and to find them happy forever homes.
You can register your team online, the information is on both websites, www.nfhs.ca and www.wellandspca.com. You can also contact me at cathy@niagarafallshumanesociety.com for tickets, or call me at 905-356-4404 x 223.
We would like to thank everyone who supported this year’s Gala. It was a wonderful and successful evening. We are already working on next year’s event, so stay tuned!
Plan to visit a shelter near you. See what we’re up to, say hello to the animals. If you are looking for a pet, talk to our staff and let us help you choose the right pet for your family and lifestyle.
Below, four year old Cornelius is waiting at the shelter for a new home. For more information please visit the link HERE.
If you enjoy Bingo, why not play when playing helps the animals? In Niagara Falls, our bingo nights are Jan. 18 at 9 pm, Feb 17 at 6 pm and March 17 at 6pm and 9 pm.
More about main picture, Rousey who is a four year old mastiff. She came in to the shelter in Niagara Falls severely underweight. She is slowly gaining with proper food and attention. She was tested for heartworm, and unfortunately she is positive. She is under Dr. Carol’s loving care here at the shelter. We are looking for a foster home for her while she is going through the treatment process, which entails antibiotics, injections, rest and observation. She has to be kept quiet and is basically on “bed rest” for awhile.
We’d like her to have some TLC, she deserves it. Rousey is a friendly, high energy giant with a heart of gold. Rousey doesn’t always get along with other animals, so a home where she is the only pet would be best for her at this time. For more information please visit the link HERE.
A very Hopeful New Year to you all!
