On Sunday at about 5:14 pm Niagara Regional Police say they responded to reports of a robbery that had just occurred at the N.R. Variety Store located at 230 Ontario St. in St. Catharines.
Investigation revealed that 2 males entered the Variety Store and one of them was armed with a weapon and demanded money.
After obtaining a quantity of money, the two fled from the scene on foot Eastbound on Lowell Ave. Both males then entered an awaiting white sedan on Lowell Ave and fled the area Northbound on Thomas St.
An extensive search of the area was conducted however the vehicle and suspect males remain outstanding. Both suspects in this matter are described as follows:
Male, Black, 20-30 years of age wearing black clothing, hooded sweatshirts with their faces covered.
There were no injuries as a result of the incident.
This matter is being investigated by the 1 District Detective Office. Anyone with information relating to this offence is requested to contact investigators.
