Environment Canada says the niagara region will see very hot temperatures continuing today and again is issuing a heat warning for Niagara Falls – Welland – Southern Niagara Region – St. Catharines – Grimsby – and the Northern Niagara Region as follows:
Hot and humid conditions will continue today.
A hot and humid airmass is expected to remain in place today. Maximum afternoon temperatures are expected to be near 30 degrees with humidex values near 40.
A cold front is expected to move through this afternoon bringing an end to the heat event.
The risks are greater for young children, pregnant women, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.
Drink plenty of water even before you feel thirsty and stay in a cool place.
