Niagara Regional Police report that yesterday afternoon about 2:30 p.m. they responded along with the Niagara Emergency Medical Services and Wainfleet Fire Services to a report of a motorcycle and pickup truck collision on Wellandport Road at Willford Road in Wainfleet.
Initial investigation revealed that a 2015 Yamaha motorcycle was being driven southbound on Wellandport Road by a 54-year-old male from Oakville. At the same time a 2015 Ram pickup truck was being driven westbound on Willford Road by a 28-year-old male from Dunnville. These two vehicles came into collision within this intersection that is controlled by stop signs on Willford Road. The rider was thrown from the motorcycle and suffered fatal injuries. The driver of the Ram did not suffer any physical injuries.
This collision remains under investigation by the Coroner’s Office and Detectives of the Niagara Regional Police Services Collision Reconstruction Unit.
