Yesterday afternoon at approximately 2:30 p.m. the Niagara Regional Police Service, the Niagara Emergency Medical Services and Niagara Falls Fire Services responded to a report of a single motor vehicle collision on Cherrygrove Road near Dorchester Road in Niagara Falls.
Initial investigation revealed that a 2011 Chevrolet pickup truck was being driven westbound on Cherrygrove Road by a 75-year-old Niagara Falls male. This driver lost control of his vehicle, left the roadway and struck a large tree. Residents in this area called 911 and rendered assistance to the single occupant in this vehicle.
The driver was transported to a local hospital before being pronounced dead.
This collision remains under investigation by the Coroner’s Office and Detectives of the Niagara Regional Police Services Collision Reconstruction Unit.
