The City of St. Catharines has partnered with DocuPet to offer something they call ” an enhanced dog licensing experience.”
Currently DocuPet, which runs the online pet licensing program for the city, is raising awareness about why residents need dog tags for their family pets and is going door-to-door with City dog tag information handouts starting this week from 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
Officials from the city say that there is a city bylaw that requires dog owners to buy licenses which assists in funds for animal control and also helps owners find their pup if it is lost.
DocuPet representatives (identifiable by their blue DocuPet clothing), will not be knocking on doors, ringing doorbells or selling anything at the door, instead they they will discuss dog licensing with residents they meet. DocuPet will not visit homes where dogs already have a city dog licence.
