Police say that detectives from the Niagara Falls office of the NRPS continue to investigate a shooting incident that occurred at approximately 3:30am on Sunday.

It happened at a hotel in the area of Lundy’s Lane and Kalar Road in Niagara Falls where police were initially there for an unrelated investigation when a member of the public alerted them to an ongoing robbery.  The robbery was taking place in one of the rooms and a firearm was believed to be involved.

As officers were receiving the information from the member of the public they heard a gunshot. Officers moved towards the room, as numerous other NRPS units responded to the scene from around the city.  Officers found two males suffering from serious gunshot wounds.

Officers conducted a high risk arrest of three persons from a hotel room.  They were subsequently transported to the NRPS Central Prisoner Management Unit in Niagara Falls.

The two injured parties initially received treatment locally and have subsequently transported to an out of region hospital.

As of this morning, one of the victims has been discharged from the hospital.  The other victim remains in an out of region hospital in serious condition.

Police have now arrested and charged 26 year old Felicia Dion of Sarnia and 41 year old Oliver Slowley of St. Catharines with robbery with a firearm, aggravated assault and forcible confinement.

23 year old Shyheim Bailey, also of St. Catharines, is facing an additional charge of attempted murder.

All three arrested parties will attend a bail hearing today at the Robert S. K. Welch Courthouse in St. Catharines.

Detectives are appealing to the public if they can provide any information as to the actions and whereabouts of the accused persons in the hours just before the shooting.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the police at 905-688-4111, extension 9462.
