Wing lovers have a great weekend in store as the second annual St. Catharines Chicken Wing Festival kicks off this weekend in Lakeside Park and promises to delight everyone’s tastebuds!
The family-friendly event features six local businesses selling wings and squaring off to be selected as best by popular vote. The event raises money for Community Care of St. Catharines & Thorold.
This year’s list of competitors in the best wing competition are:
- Kully’s Original Sports Bar (2016 Champion)
- Cat’s Caboose
- Redline BBQ Catering
- Roberto’s Pizza Passion (2016 Co-”Hottest Wing”)
- Romby’s Smokehouse & Tavern
- Wrigley’s Sports Bar & Lounge (2016 Co-”Hottest Wing”)
Wings are not the only thing looking for a champion, though. In addition to best wing and an all-you-can-eat wing contest on Sunday at 1:30 p.m, this year’s festival will host a ping pong championship. The new event is hosted in conjunction with Ping Pong Niagara and contestants can sign up for $10. Contestants can sign up at www.pingpongniagara.com.
