Police say on July 12, 2017 at approximately 9:30 pm members of the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to a report of an armed robbery at a residence in the aera of Scott Street and Bunting Road, in St. Catharines.
The victim was alone in the residence when three to four males armed with long guns forced their way inside. The victim was not injured, and managed to flee the residence unnoticed by the suspects. No firearms were discharged.
The suspects fled prior to police arrival and remain at large, following an extensive search. Descriptions are limited. All were described as black males, 6 feet tall or taller, with their faces covered. Investigators have reason to believe that this was not a random act.
Detectives from the 1 District Criminal Investigation Branch, with the assistance of the Forensic Services Unit continue to investigate.
