Police say an adult male is recovering in hospital with injuries after a stabbing in Fort Erie early yesterday morning. The male was injured shortly before 3:00 a.m. at a residential address on Washington Rd. in Fort Erie.
Local Emergency Medical Services and uniform officers from the Niagara Regional Police Service were dispatched to the residence, after learning the male had been stabbed, and required medical assistance. Officers and E.M.S. personnel arrived and located the victim outside of the residence; the victim was tended to at the scene and subsequently transported to hospital where he remains in serious condition.
A residence on Washington Rd. is currently being maintained by police. The matter is being investigated as a domestic disturbance and the name of the accused will not be released in the interest of protecting the identity of the victim. The investigation is ongoing. A thirty seven year old female was arrested at the scene and will be held in police custody to await a bail hearing.
