Drug Trafficking has proven very profitable for one Niagara On The Lake male.

 

Police say since the beginning of February Members of the Niagara Regional Police Service, Guns, Gangs, and Grows Unit have been conducting a drug trafficking investigation. The investigation focused on an individual who was responsible for the sale of cocaine and marihuana throughout the Niagara Region.

As a result of the investigation, Police obtained 8 search warrants. These search warrants were for locations in St. Catharines, Welland and Niagara On The Lake.

On May 31st, 2017 at approximately 8:45 am members of the Niagara Regional Police Service Special Investigations Services, St. Catharines and Welland Street Crime Units and several members of the Canadian Border Service Agency executed the said search warrants, where several people were arrested.

Charged with 1 count of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Proceeds of Crime, Unsafe Storage of a firearm, Possession of a Prohibited Firearm without a licence and Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon is 59-year-old Steven Soyka of St. Catharines. Also charged with 5 counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking and 1 count of Possession of Proceeds of Crime is 51-year-old Robert Goldfinch of Niagara On The Lake.

In total Police seized $8,250.00 in cocaine, $285,460.00 in processed marihuana, and over $500,000.00 in cash.
