If you have batteries that you need to dispose of this is the week for it in Niagara Region as the annual curbside battery collection takes place this week. (Apr 24-28)
Accepted batteries include standard A, AA, AAA, C, D and 9V batteries, lithium batteries and button cell batteries from watches, toys, electronics, greeting cards and calculators, etc. Batteries will be picked up on your regular garbage day.
How Do I Dispose of Batteries?
Place the batteries in a sealed, clear plastic bag besideyour grey or blue box. When disposing of lithium and button cell batteries residents are asked to tape both ends of the battery before putting them in the bag.
Car batteries, rechargeable batteries, battery packs and industrial batteries will not be accepted.
