We had a chance to preview the amazing lineup of new boats last night at the Enercare Centre, Exhibition Place in Toronto where crowds lined up to check out the latest and greatest first hand…

We were told that small pleasure watercrafts are seeing a huge rise in popularity which have spurnned on innovations like electric surfboards, inflatable stand up paddle boards, light weight kayaks and even a foldable boat that can be easily stored and secured to the top of a car…

So many boats to see, so little time! The Toronto Boat Show also features, over 250 seminars and workshops that are geared to all levels of boaters.

Other highlights of the show include the debut of a 100 per cent electric powered boat made by The Canadian Electric Boat Company, based in Quebec. The Bruce 22 uses zero fuel, produces zero emissions or greenhouse gas, and is noiseless. The electric boat can hit speeds up to 72km/h and has up to 8 hours of battery operating range.
BOTTOM LINE: This is great fun for anyone in the market for a boat, or just wanting to kick those January blahs for an afternoon!
