Police are warning folks not to give anyone access to their account information with Instagram. Why? Peel police are warning that they have received complaints about the mobile photo-sharing site from lots of people.
In particular, they have received reports of people allowing a user to access their own personal Instagram account to advertise the sale of items such as cellphones and when other users see these posts on their friends’ accounts they assume the source must be legit.
But they aren’t. The posts lead to fraudulent sites/sales of merchandise and the whole thing is a scam.
So far, investigators that have been looking into this scam say that young people seem to be the target. BOTTOM LINE: Do not share your Instagram Account Information!
