At approximately 4:35 p.m. on Sunday, November 20th, 2016, the Niagara Emergency Medical Services, St.Catharines Fire Department and the Niagara Regional Police Service responded to a motor vehicle collision on Fourth Avenue near Ontario Street, in the City of St.Catharines, within the Regional Municipality of Niagara.

 

Police say that initial investigation revealed that a 55-year-old male resident of St.Catharines was driving a 2005 Ford Five Hundred motor vehicle eastbound on Fourth Avenue when it crossed the center line and collided with a westbound 2006 Pontiac Montana van being driven by a 50-year-old St.Catharines male. This Ford continued eastbound and it came into a head on type collision with a westbound 2011 Hyundai Tucson that was being driven by a 41-year-old female from Stoney Creek.

The driver of the Ford suffered life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The other drivers were uninjured in this collision.  This collision remains under investigation by Detectives of the Niagara Regional Police Services Collision Reconstruction Unit.
