Police say on Sunday, October 9, 2016, at 11:45 pm, Niagara Regional Police Service received numerous calls of a fight on Fairview Street in the town of Grimsby.
Members of the Niagara Regional Police Service 8 District quickly responded to the area, and while doing so were provided with an update that one of the males in the fight had a gun. Police were then advised that the male, and the rest of the group had left in vehicles. A vehicle description was provided and police located the vehicle on Main Street East, Grimsby. Police conducted a traffic stop, detained the occupants and searched the vehicle for the gun.
During the search of the vehicle police located a large amount of Powdered Cocaine and Canadian currency. As a result the vehicle occupants were arrested.
Arrested and charged was 20 year old Gerald ROGERS of Hamilton, and 19 year old Christian BOYD-GALEGO of Hamilton
ROGERS has been charged with the following offences:
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine)
Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5000
Fail to Comply With Probation
BOYD-GALEGO has been charged with the following offences:
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (Cocaine)
Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5000
As a result of this investigation Police seized $2490 worth of Cocaine and $3740 in Canadian Currency.
Rogers was held in custody pending a bail hearing.BOYD-GALEGO was released from Police custody with a future court date.
