Have you ever been caught in that familiar situation where you KNOW your meter is running out on the car, but you just can’t get to it before the ticket guy does. Well times may be a changin’ in St. Catharines!
That’s because there’s a new proposal that would allow residents to use their cell phones to keep the metres running that the city is considering. Motorists would still be able to put coins into the metres, but, paying via their mobile phones would be another option which in many cases would likely help drivers avoid tickets.
Residents are invited to voice their opinion tonight at the city council meeting about the phone parking that would affect the downtown core (6:30 pm). Council is expected to vote on the plan after the public meeting.
What do you think? Would you use it?
