According to police, on Thursday July 14, 2016 shortly after 9:30 p.m. police were called to the Pelham Road and Rykert Street area for a robbery that had just occurred.Upon arrival, officers learned that the victim had been walking down Pelham Road when he was approached by a male who brandished a weapon and demanded that the victim turn over his valuables.
The victim subsequently complied and the suspect fled on foot.Responding officers quickly established a perimeter while a K9 Unit commenced a search for the suspect. While on the perimeter, officers observed a male matching the suspect description and, after speaking with him briefly, took him into custody without incident.Charged with One (1) Count of Robbery and One (1) Count of Breach of Probation is 24 year old Jeremy Bancer of No Fixed Address.
Bancer is scheduled to appear for a Bail Hearing at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse located at 59 Church Street in The City of St.Catharines on the morning of Friday July 15, 2016.
