Police say since May of 2016, members of the St.Catharines Street Crime Unit began conducting a drug investigation into two individuals believed to be involved in selling Heroin throughout the City of St.Catharines.
During the month of June 2016, police observed several suspected drug transactions by these individuals. On June 8th 2016, police arrested these parties along with two other individuals. Members of the St.Catharines and Welland Street Crime Units with the assistance of Uniform officers and Detectives from the St.Catharines Criminal Investigation Branch, subsequently executed two CDSA search warrants at their residences in St.Catharines. As a result of the arrest and the execution of a search warrant police seized of a quantity of Heroin, Oxycodone, Marihuana and Canadian currency.
Arrested and charged was 27 year old Darnel ELLIS, ELLIS has been charged with the following offence:
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x 3
Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5000
Arrested and charged was 22 year old Kyle WILLS of St.Catharines, WILLS has been charged with the following offence:
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking X2
Arrested and charge was 21 year old Leon McKAIN of Toronto, McKAIN has been charged with the following offence:
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
Arrested and charge was 21 year old Aaron BENSKIN-MCINTOSH of Toronto, BENSKIN-MCINTOSH has been charged with the following offence:
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
As a result of this investigation Police seized $15000 worth of Drugs and a quantity of Canadian Currency.
ELLIS and WILLS were held in custody pending a bail hearing on June 9th 2016, while McKAIN and BENSKIN-MCINTOSH were released on a Promise to Appear.
