Accordng to police, on Tuesday May 10th, 2016 at approximately 8:00 a.m. uniform members of the Niagara Regional Police Service Grimsby Detachment along with members of the Hamilton Police Service commenced an investigation into the damaging of cable and hydro wires which had been pulled down by a flatbed truck carrying an inappropriately stored fork lift.
The initial investigation commenced in the area of Grimsby Rd near Mud Street and continued through the Town of Grimsby and into the City of Hamilton.Once in the Hamilton Region, the suspect vehicle continued to pull down wire including wires at the intersection of Hwy 8 and Fifty Road. It continued its destructive path until the area of Barton St. and Lewis Rd. Hamilton.
The damages are estimated to be well over $5000.Dozens of homes were without power as a result this incident.
