Police say, on Wednesday, April 20th, 2016 at 1:01 AM the Niagara Regional Police Service along with Niagara – Emergency Medical Services responded to a Disturbance Call at Carter’s Sports Bar located at 466 Merritt Street in the City of St. Catharines. Upon arrival, Officers were directed to a 22 year-old male who appeared to be in obvious distress.
A preliminary investigation revealed that there had been a physical altercation between several patrons after which the victim was stabbed in the upper torso. Originally, the victim was transported to Niagara Health Systems – St. Catharines but later transferred to the Hamilton General Hospital by air ambulance with what were believed to be life threatening injuries. The victim has since been listed in stable condition and is expected to make a full recovery.
