Police say, since the beginning of April members of the Niagara Regional Police Service Guns, Gangs, and Grows Unit has been investigating a Niagara Falls man for growing marihuana in his residence.
As a result of the investigation,on April 7th, 2016 Police obtained a search warrant to enter and search an Oakwood Avenue home. As Police were preparing to execute the search warrant, the accused left his residence in his vehicle. He was subsequently arrested in his vehicle at the intersection of Oakwood Avenue and McLeod Road.
Police then entered the residence and located an elaborate marihuana grow operation. Police seized 384 marihuana plants in various stages of growth and 1437.4 grams of dried marihuana. In total, Police seized almost $400,000.00 in marihuana.
Charged with 1 count of Unlawful Production of marihuana and 1 count of Possession of a Controlled Substance is 44-year-old Stelios Argiris. Argiris was subsequently released from custody and will appear for court in May to answer to these charges.
