Police say, early in 2016 police were made aware of an apartment in a quiet part of Welland, Ontario that was allegedly involved in the sale of drugs. This suspected drug trafficking operation brought numerous potential dangers to the neighbourhood and adversely affected the lives of the residents there. Members of the Welland Street Crime Unit began an investigation into the activities stemming from this apartment.
On Wednesday April 7, 2016 a Controlled Drug and Substance Act search warrant was executed on the Dorothy Street apartment. As a result of the execution of this warrant police seized suspected crystal methamphetamine valued at approximately $8,500.00, a marihuana growing operation with thirty marihuana plants in various stages of growth, dried and packaged marihuana, $620 in Canadian currency, numerous knives, and various drug paraphernalia used in the sale and consumption of drugs. Arrested as a result of this investigation are:
Steven Mccoll, a 28 year old resident of Welland, Ontario who is charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000.00, Produce a Schedule II Substance, Careless Storage of Ammunition, Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition, and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon.
Krystal Cousins, a 24 year old resident of Welland, Ontario is charged with charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000.00, Produce a Schedule II Substance, Careless Storage of Ammunition, Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition, and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon.
Jacob Rosloski, a 33 year old resident of Welland, Ontario is charged with charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of Proceeds of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5,000.00, Produce a Schedule II Substance, Careless Storage of Ammunition, Unauthorized Possession of Ammunition, Possession of a Dangerous Weapon, Failing to Comply with the conditions of a Probation Order.
All three of the arrested parties are being held in custody pending a bail hearing on Thursday April 7, 2016 in St. Catharines, Ontario.
