Police say, on March 19, 2016 at approximately 5:30 pm Uniform members of the Niagara Regional Police Service, Niagara Falls detachment, responded to reports of a stabbing on Waters Avenue Niagara Falls.
Upon arrival police identified a 23 year old male victim who was suffering from a stab wound to the head. The victim was subsequently transported to hospital where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries. A responding uniform officer was immediately able to identify the male suspect who was located in the area of Waters Avenue.
A 31 year old Niagara Falls resident identified as Mark STACEY is charged with the following offences under the Criminal Code of Canada:
Aggravated Assault Section 268(1)
Fail to Comply with Recognizance Section 145(3)
Resist Arrest Section 129(a)
Investigation by Niagara Falls Detectives revealed that STACEY and the victim were known to one another.
STACEY is to appear in St. Catharines court on March 21, 2016.
