Police say the man turned himself in on Friday and they thanked members of the public who assisted in the investigation.
ORIGINAL REPORT: According to police, on March 6, 2016, a Thorold woman was in her residence in the area of Highway 20 and Allanport Road in Thorold. At approximately 3:00AM a man known to her entered the residence. After some discussions the man became enraged with the woman, at which point he physically assaulted her. The woman was able to flee the scene.
On March 7, 2016 the woman attended a local hospital to receive treatment for her injuries that were found to be serious in nature. The woman subsequently underwent surgery for her injuries. The Niagara Regional Police investigation has led to a warrant being issued for the arrest of 44 year old Peter Antoni GRANT. (pictured below)
Peter Antoni GRANT is presently wanted for:
– Aggravated assault contrary to section 268(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada
GRANT’s present whereabouts are unknown. The investigating officers believe that GRANT is aware that he is wanted by police and is actively trying to evade arrest.
