According to police, since February of 2016, members of the St.Catharines Street Crime Unit have been conducting three separate drug investigations involving the sale of Crack Cocaine in the area of Queenston Street and Niagara Street in the City of St.Catharines. These three locations were believed to be responsible for supplying the areas drug users and was an ongoing concern for citizens working and living in the surrounding area.

 

Throughout the month of February 2016, Police monitored the movements of these suspected drug dealers. On February 23rd 2016, members of the St.Catharines Street Crime Unit with the assistance of the Emergency Task Unit executed a Controlled Drugs and Substance Act search warrant at a residence in this area and as a result of this search warrant police seized a quantity of Crack Cocaine, Prescription Medication and Canadian Currency.

On February 29th 2016, members of the St.Catharines Street Crime Unit executed two search warrants at a rooming house in this area. As a result of this search warrant police seized a quantity of Crack Cocaine, Crystal Methamphetamine, marijuana and Canadian currency.

At the first location Police Arrested and charged the following persons:

39 year old St.Catharines resident Maurice HUSSIN
Traffick a Controlled Substance
Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x2
Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5000
Breach Probation

32 year old St.Catharines resident Lillian SANFORD
Traffick a Controlled Substance
Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x2
Breach Probation

35 year old Grimsby resident Derick BURGESS
Possession of a controlled Substance

At the second location Police arrested two individuals and only charged 32 year old St.Catharines resident Brandon BOYLE .

Police are genuinely appreciative for the support provided by the St.Catharines residents for assisting in this matter. Members of the public are also encouraged to contact police to curtail any future problems in their community.

Further investigations in the Queenston Street area are anticipated.
