Police say, since February of 2016, members of the St.Catharines Street Crime Unit began conducting a drug investigation involving the sale of Fentanyl in the City of St.Catharines.
This was the second time in less than a year police conducted an investigation of trafficking Fentanyl by this individual from this address. During the month of February 2016, police observed several suspected drug transactions by this individual. On February 18th 2016, police were granted judicial authorization to enter and search a residence in the Merritton area. A search of the residence resulted in the arrest of the accused and Police located Fentanyl, marijuana and Canadian currency.
Arrested and charged was 34 year old Jeffery WALTERS of St.Catharines
WALTERS has been charged with the following offence;
Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking
Possession of a Schedule II Substance
Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5000
Failing to comply with his Recognizance x 2
As a result of this investigation Police seized a quantity of Fentanyl, Marijuana and Canadian Currency.
WALTERS was held in custody pending a bail hearing on February 19th, 2016.
