Police say, for the past several months, members of the St.Catharines Street Crime Unit have been conducting a drug investigation involving the sale of Heroin and Crack Cocaine in City of St.Catharines.
Throughout January of 2016, police began to monitor the movements of these suspected drug dealers. One of the residences under investigation was a concern to police as it was subject to a stabbing investigation that occurred a week prior. While the second residence under investigation was an individual on Federal Parole.
On January 26th 2016, police observed a suspected drug transaction between one of the individuals under investigation. Shortly after this transaction, police conducted a traffic stop and arrested 23 year old Malcolm EDWARDS for Trafficking a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Proceeds of Crime and Breach Probation.
On January 26th 2016, police were granted judicial authorization to search two residences on Page Street. At approximately 5:25 p.m., Police with the assistance of the Emergency Task Unit and Provincial Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement Squad executed two warrants simultaneously.
At the first location Police Arrested and charged the following persons:
43 year old St.Catharines resident Roger VANBLURICUM
Traffick a Controlled Substance
Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x 2
Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5000
Breach of Parole
33 year old St.Catharines resident Stephanie AUDET of St.Catharines.
Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking x 2
Possession of Proceeds of Crime Under $5000
At the second location Police arrested and charge 39 year old St.Catharines resident Mark McGregor
Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking
Possession of a controlled substance
Possession of a prohibited weapon
At 10:20 p.m., members of the St.Catharines Street Crime Unit obtained judicial authorization to search EDWARDS residence in Niagara Falls, which resulted in the seizure of a quantity of Canadian currency.
As a result police seized a quantity of Heroin, Crack Cocaine, Codeine and Marijuana and a large quantity of Canadian currency.
All parties were held in custody for their morning bail hearing.
